DARK SURF BY ACAE
Dark Surf is not surf culture.
It is the other side of it.
The coast at 5am before anyone arrives. The ocean in November. The water black. The sky heavy. The silence that lives between waves.
We build clothing for people who understand this — who are drawn to the sea not for warmth or escape, but for something harder to name. A gravity. A pull back to the edge.
Not sportswear. Not beach wear. Clothing for people who arrive before dawn and stay after dark.
THE CONSTRUCTION
Heavyweight cotton. Vintage-washed treatments. Raw hems. Dropped shoulders. Loose fit that refuses to perform athleticism or trend.
Every garment is treated — not factory-finished. The wash, the fade, the frayed edge: deliberate. Not distressed for aesthetics. Aged because permanence takes time.
THE WORLD
Black volcanic sand. Sea stacks rising through fog. Dark churning water. No sun. No warmth. No performance.
This is the world Dark Surf inhabits. The uninhabited coast. The ancient and the atmospheric. The place where the ocean reminds you it was here long before you and will remain long after.
THE BRAND
Dark Surf is a sub-brand of ACAE — founded by Anthony Clarke. ACAE is built on a single belief: clothing is not decoration. It is signal. A declaration of where you stand in time.
AWAKENING → ASCENSION → ARRIVAL.
Dark Surf is the coastal expression of that belief. Stripped back. Worn in. Permanent.
Black sand. Sea stacks. Fog.
The ocean at its most ancient.
